SOLITARY LETTERS - The Streets Sit Worn And Ragged

The Streets Sit Worn And Ragged

The streets sit worn and ragged
Cracked in front of abandoned shops,
Bicycles and weary slippers;

Mothers' wrappers strapped to their backs,
Suffocating noisy infants
Before the teargas eventually will;
For you have nothing to lose now.

The streets sit worn and ragged
Below walls painted by murder;
The bicycles run from their owners
As chaos diffuses with the dust.
